Hybrid – Online – Learning?
Hybrid learning is an educational approach that combines in-person (face-to-face) instruction with online (digital) learning. It allows students to engage in both traditional classroom activities and remote learning, often leveraging technology to enhance flexibility and accessibility.
This model can vary, but common structures include:
- Synchronous hybrid learning – Students participate in real-time lessons, either in person or remotely via video conferencing.
- Asynchronous hybrid learning – Students complete some coursework online at their own pace while attending in-person sessions for hands-on activities, discussions, or assessments.
Hybrid learning is widely used in schools, universities, and corporate training programs, offering benefits like personalized learning, increased accessibility, and efficient use of resources.
VRTWC College uses: Synchronous Online learning or Virtual Live Learning.
Since there is no in-person or onsite component, it does not qualify as hybrid learning. Instead, it falls under the category of online learning, specifically synchronous because it happens in real-time through teleconferencing, live lectures, or virtual classrooms.
This method allows students to interact with instructors and peers instantly, ask questions, and participate in discussions, similar to a traditional classroom but conducted entirely online. Examples include live Zoom classes, Microsoft Teams sessions, Google Meet, and webinars with real-time engagement.
